Flag at half-mast for the 215 victims of Kamloops
The City of Westmount lowered its flag at half-mast following the discovery of remains of 215 children at the site of a former residential school in Kamloops, B.C.
“We join others in lowering the flags at City Hall to honour the lives of the 215 children who died at the Kamloops Residential school. It is to honour these children and to work towards reconciliation for those 215 children and all the others who never made it home, the survivors and the families who were tragically affected.”, said Mayor Christina M. Smith in response to this tragic discovery.
