Felling of dead and damaged trees as of March 1

The Public Works Department has mandated the firm Arbo-Design to carry out tree felling and stump removal on public property (parks and streets). The work is scheduled to begin on March 1st and continue throughout the year.

This work is necessary because several of the City’s trees have died, or are in a state that poses a danger to the public. In collaboration with an urban forestry engineering firm, the Public Works Department has identified all the priority interventions to make the urban forest safer for citizens.

The City will also carry out tree stump removal. The stumps to be removed are from trees felled in previous years. Each site will then be re-evaluated in order to replant a new tree as quickly as possible.

To preserve our urban forest, no trees will be cut down unless absolutely necessary.
