Discover Shimmering, an art installation by Tuba Qurban.

The Gallery at Victoria Hall is pleased to present an art installation by local artist Tuba Qurban.

What does it mean to dream of the garden in winter?

Through the potential of the printed image and natural fibers, I explore the contrasts between the materiality of paper and translucent surfaces. The works evolve over the course of the different stages of printing and handmade papermaking. In this dialogue, the photogravure process creates a plastic re-cutting, while the paper renews itself. This material research takes shape here as an installation composed of dispersed and deliberately unidentified works to make room for a sensory experience.

Shimmering unfolds within a slow, contemplative temporality in which light takes on a shimmering quality.
