Screening: Charlie Chaplin, le génie de la liberté

(Screening in French)

Charlie Chaplin, le génie de la liberté (2020)

A burlesque genius, Chaplin used his talent in service of an ideal of justice and freedom. His life was his best script, a story that influenced 20th century history. Actor, author, director, producer, composer and choreographer, Chaplin is one of the most multitalented artists of his time.

Narrated by Mathieu Amalric, “Charlie Chaplin, le génie de la liberté” is a documentary made up of archive footage about Chaplin’s beloved characters. Full of anthology scenes from his most popular masterpieces to surprising and little-known sequences, this documentary selected at Cannes in 2020 paints the portrait of a subversive and timeless artist.

Screening will be followed by discussion.
