This musical tribute to Montreal’s Golden Age of jazz alternates between live jazz performance by the and vintage musical film shorts that feature famous Black jazz artists who performed in Montreal night clubs and music halls like Café St-Michel, Black Bottom and Rockhead’s Paradise.
All shorts come from the Film Society archives and will be projected as 16mm film for added authenticity. See Billie Holiday, Cab Calloway, Duke Ellington, Fats Waller, and Little Burgundy’s own Oscar Peterson performing on the big screen!
