ECS Students Revitalize Argyle Park
Grade 1 students at Miss Edgar’s and Miss Cramp’s School (ECS) saw their labor of love come to life today at Argyle Park. A ribbon cutting ceremony marked the realization of the students’ revitalization project targeting the green space at the intersection of Argyle Avenue and The Boulevard.
The project of creating a more welcoming space at Argyle Park was the focus of a year-long exploration on relaxation and well-being for grade 1 students at ECS. Combining subject learning and real-world problem solving, the girls collaborated with the City of Westmount to install a number of thoughtful additions to the park. Their bird feeders, wind chimes and rock mosaics enhance the natural environment, while informational signs that explain the local flora and fauna invite reflection on our interactions with nature. Flowers meant to attract pollinators were also planted there, the result of a successful fundraiser in partnership with Urban Seedling.
All are invited to enjoy the revamped Argyle Park!
