Earth Day 2024 Events
Earth Day 2024 will take place on Monday, April 22. To mark this day, the City of Westmount is organizing several environmental awareness and action events:
- The Big Cleanup
- Friday, April 19, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. in Westmount Park
- Rain or shine, join the Waste Management Team in Westmount Park to clean up our shared outdoor space in the lead up to park season.

- Hazardous Household Waste Collection
- Saturday, April 20, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Library parking lot
- Safely dispose of your hazardous household waste at the temporary depot set up in the Library parking lot.

- Guided Tree Tour (FULL)
- Saturday, April 20, 11 a.m. in Westmount Park
- Our knowledgeable arborist, Alberto Dias-Meideros, will lead our Tree Walk. Don’t wait to reserve your spot for this wildly popular activity!

- Conference: Fashion Industry Impacts and Alternatives, with Entremaille
- Saturday, April 20, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Victoria Hall
- This introductory conference provides a comprehensive overview of the environmental and social impacts of the fashion industry.

- Clothing Swap (FULL)
- Saturday, April 20, 1 to 4 p.m. at Victoria Hall
- Bring up to 10 pre-loved items of clothing and swap with friends and neighbours. Drop off your items at Victoria Hall on April 18 and 19 or before 11 a.m. on April 20.

While we are marking this day of international importance with one-time special events, the City of Westmount is committed to taking action for the environment every day. Through environmental initiatives as well as our day-to-day methods — waste management operations, environmental considerations in project planning, and more — protecting our environment is a priority.
