COVID-19: support to businesses

To minimize the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on businesses, support measures and programs have been put in place by the City of Westmount, and the provincial and federal governments.

• The City of Westmount has extended the deadline for the 2nd payment of municipal taxes to the end of June. More details on this measure to come.
• The gouvernement du Québec has put in place the Concerted temporary action program for businesses (PACTE) to help businesses experiencing liquidity problems due to this crisis. Businesses will also have until August 31, 2020, to pay their income tax due.

• As part of its COVID-19 Economic Response Plan, the Government of Canada is taking action to support businesses, including measures to avoid “layoffs, ease access to credit, and extend the deadline for the payment of taxes.
