Council Meetings

Mayor Christina M. Smith and 8 city councillors, each representing one of the city’s 8 electoral districts, form the council of the City of Westmount. The council is the main governing and legislative body for the city. The Mayor and Councillors also sit on various standing committees and municipal.

The public can attend and participate in Council meetings in person at City Hall, or online on Zoom. Click on the button below to find out how to attend the Council sessions on Zoom.

Questions for the Council

You may submit your questions in advance for the 1st question period by filling out the online form which will be available on the day of council between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Click here to access the online form.

You can also ask your question verbally on Zoom during the 2nd question period

  • To ask your question verbally on Zoom, drag your mouse or finger across the bottom of your screen to view the participant control panel then click on the Raise Hand icon. (If you change your mind, you can put your hand down by clicking again on the Raise Hand icon).

    Wait for the City Clerk to give you the floor, and address your question. ATTENTION: please ensure that the microphone on the device you are watching the Council (computer, tablet or smartphone) is unmuted and working.

During the Council meeting, the public can ask questions during questions periods, and also submit their questions in advance.
