Commemorative mural for the City’s 150th anniversary
As part of Westmount’s 150th-anniversary celebrations, a commemorative mural will be painted on one of the walls adjacent to the Greene public parking lot (south of Rue Sherbrooke, next to 1368 av. Greene). The mural will be created by renowned Montreal urban artist WhatIsAdam (Adam Vieira) from Station 16 Gallery located in the heart of the Quartier Greene. This first urban public art project commissioned by the City of Westmount will represent the dynamism, beauty and diversity of the City and its community.
Preparations for the mural
Work on the mural will begin on Monday, June 10, 2024, and the unveiling will take place on Saturday, June 15. During the work and the inauguration event, many spaces in this public parking lot will be unavailable.
Inauguration of the mural on Saturday, June 15
A block party in the parking lot will take place on June 15 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. to unveil this work of art. All are invited to attend this festive event around the mural and to celebrate Westmount’s 150th Anniversary and its community. Free refreshments, music (DJ on site), entertainment, and a cash bar will be available. Families are welcome. Don’t miss this event!
