Changes to waste collections to facilitate snow removal operations

In order not to interfere with snow removal operations, some collections (food waste, garbage and recycling) had to be interrupted or postponed.

Garbage and food waste (compost)

  • Garbage and food waste collection on Monday, February 17 could not be completed and will not be resumed.
  • Garbage and food waste collection and recyclables collections on Tuesday, February 18 are cancelled.

Buildings with 1 to 29 units

  • All collections are cancelled for the rest of the week.

Buildings with 1 to 8 units

  • Garbage collection, which takes place every 2 weeks and was due to take place this week, has been postponed until next week. The garbage collection scheduled for Thursday, February 20, and Friday, February 21, will be rescheduled for February 27 and 28.

Institutions, businesses and buildings of 30 units or more

  • Recycling and garbage collection for institutions, businesses and multi-unit dwellings with 30 or more units will continue on Wednesday and Friday respectively.
  • Garbage collection for institutions, businesses and multi-unit dwellings of 30 units or more in the eastern sector, which usually takes place on Thursday, has been postponed to Friday.

SUMMARY

  • Monday, February 17: garbage and food waste collection not completed in eastern sector
  • Tuesday, February 18: no collection
  • Wednesday, February 19: Recycling collections are maintained only for institutions, businesses, and multi-unit dwellings of 30 units or more.
  • Thursday, February 20: no collection.
  • Friday, February 21: Garbage collections for the western and eastern sector only for institutions, businesses, and multi-unit dwellings of 30 units or more.
