By-law no. 2020-84 on the Metropolitan Residual Materials Management Plan 2015-2020

The City of Westmount adopted Bylaw no. 2020-84 amending Bylaw no. 2016-68 on the Metropolitan Residual Materials Management Plan 2015-2020.

The purpose of Le Plan métropolitain de gestion des matières résiduelles (PMGMR) is to plan the management of residual materials for the 82 municipalities of the Communauté métropolitaine de Montréal and the municipalities of Saint-Placide and L’Épiphanie (City and Parish).

This plan adheres to the three main issues set out in the Québec Residual Materials Management Policy (la Politique québécoise de gestion des matières résiduelles), i.e. to put an end to the waste of resources, to contribute to the objectives of the Climate Change Action Plan and those of the Québec Energy Strategy, and to make all the players involved in the management of residual materials accountable, as well as to the five major objectives defined in its 2011-2015 Action Plan.
