Microcomputer Environment Technician
Purpose of position
The work consists of carrying out various tasks related to the maintenance, installation, and servicing of systems, physical components, and softwares. In addition, the employee must provide technical support to users on using and operating software, existing applications, and related equipment.
Qualifications
- Diploma of Collegial Studies (DCS) in Electronics Engineering Technology or Computer and Networks, or any other specialization in an appropriate field.
Experience
- Six (6) months of experience in an environment that enabled the incumbent to become familiar with the field.
Examples of tasks to be accomplished
- Providing technical support to users in the different spheres of his/her field of expertise, including using various software, tools, materials, etc.
- Meeting with users, identifying needs, performing diagnostics, solving problems encountered, and suggesting necessary improvements.
- Managing the inventory of computer equipment such as: servers, PCs, printers, projectors, etc. and reporting any observations to his/her superior.
- Developing an update strategy for the operating system, Office suite, and applications on the workstations (desktops and laptops).
- Analyzing and defining a standard configuration for all workstations, assessing the different types of technology, and suggesting the most efficient and optimal. Ensuring that operating systems are updated.

- French and English (spoken and written).
