Purpose of position
The works consists of verifying, repairing, adjusting, modifying and maintaining mechanical components and accessories of various motorized equipment used by the City or any other new equipment. In this context, the employee has to diagnose the causes of malfunctions, analyze the situation, design and modify the solution necessary for efficient and safe use of the equipment.
She/he must also perform, according to the rules of the trade, norms and laws in effect, major body work, design of equipment and platform to modify to ensure it is in proper working order.
The work is carried out under general supervision and in accordance with verbal or written instructions. A higher-ranking employee will supervise the work and inspect it once it has been completed.
- Must have a professional diploma relevant to the position, from an institution recognized by the Ministère de l’Éducation.
- Must have an attestation of security on construction sites.
- Must have a driver’s licence.
- Must have 37 to 48 months of pertinent experience as a motorized equipment mechanic OR any combination of education and experience that enables the employee to occupy the position.
