Purpose of position

The work consists of providing City employees with relevant information from general management, the City Council and the various departments concerning internal projects and events taking place; to ensure that the website is updated, to produce the City's newsletter and to carry out work related to the preparation of advertisements.

Also, the incumbent conducts research on municipal subsidy programs related to awards and other recognition, analyzes the content and relevance and submits proposals. He or she must also write internal and external texts in the appropriate style for the administration, municipal elected officials, and services.

Qualifications

  • Diploma of Collegial Studies (DEC) in arts, literature and communications, or any other profile relevant to the field of employment.

Experience

  • Two (2) years of experience allowing him or her to be familiar with the responsibilities of the job.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Is responsible for posting data and updating the website in collaboration with all municipal services.
  2. Is responsible for the preparation of external advertisements in the local media such as: info Westmount, occasional announcements, etc., ensures coordination with the departments, writes the content, manages the layout and prepares the annual advertising calendar.
  3. Designs, prepares, writes and edits print and online communications tools (press releases, activity reports, etc.).
  4. Collaborates and participates in the visual and graphic design of various documents and communication tools.
  5. Researches grant programs and drafts appropriate documents for submission to the appropriate bodies.
  6. Writes, composes and translates into both languages, communications intended for the public and internal services, and sits on various committees concerning the website, the town newspaper, brochures, etc.

Job Profile

Essential Knowledge

  • Of both languages (French, English) spoken and written;
  • Of job-related office tools in a Windows environment;
  • Of the implementation of Internet sites, intranet or other sites.
