Purpose of position

Under the supervision of the Director of Information Technology, the incumbent will be responsible for the security, administration and evolution of systems according to industry best practices.

The Division Head - Information Systems Security is an expert in cyber defense, risk management and information security. He/she participates in specialized cybersecurity activities to ensure that identified risks are integrated into a process of continuous improvement of security mechanisms. He bridges the gap between business and operational technology issues, at the tactical and strategic levels, so that complex risks are linked to information asset modernization activities and prioritized according to their criticality.

The incumbent collaborates in the analysis and resolution of information security incidents based on best practices applicable in the current technological and organizational context.

In addition, the incumbent will work in close collaboration with the entire IT team as well as all of the City's suppliers and sectors. The incumbent will be responsible for the physical configuration and maintenance of the various servers, storage units and telecommunication systems, as well as for the evolution of the systems and security measures.

Qualifications

  • College or university degree in computer science, business computing or computer engineering.

Experience

  • • Have a minimum of seven (7) years of relevant experience allowing the incumbent to become familiar with the responsibilities of the position such as: Management and coordination of IT security related projects and Management and operation of systems.

Main Responsabilities

  1. Determines, in collaboration with his superior, the orientations, objectives and priorities of his/her unit in accordance with the department’s mission;
  2. Manages the human, financial, material and information resources of his/her unit and participates in the preparation of the department’s budget and submits his/her recommendations;
  3. Coordinate operational security activities;
  4. Provide expertise in the escalation of risks, vulnerabilities and cyber threats;
  5. Participate in the execution of vulnerability assessments, penetration tests and security audits;
  6. Administer and monitor IT infrastructure equipment;
  7. Participate in the administration of the City’s systems, servers and network infrastructure.

Job Profile

Knowledge

  • Excellent knowledge of cybersecurity and governance best practices (ISO27001, SOC2, NIST);
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft servers and services (WSUS, GPO, DNS, IIS, Exchange, SQL);
  • Excellent knowledge of virtual environment management and storage technologies;
  • Excellent knowledge of firewall systems and routing rules;
  • Good knowledge in the administration of Microsoft 365 and Azure services.
