Clerk – Timekeeper and Inventory
Purpose of position
The job consists of ensuring that the management system information on attendance reflects the work completed for the Public Works Department, and making any necessary corrections or adjustments before time sheets are submitted. Additionally, the employee shall answer internal and external calls, and provide the required information or transfer the call to the appropriate person. Lastly, the employee shall carry out some tasks related to receiving, distributing, and storing goods.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma (DES) or equivalent.
Experience
- The job requires at least one (1) year to two (2) years of experience in a job that enabled the incumbent to become familiar with the field of employment.
Examples of tasks
- Verifying the accuracy of and the pay attributed for the recorded hours in the attendance system, modifying them to assign the appropriate accounting codes, and when required, correcting the time sheets of blue-collar workers before being filed.
- Receiving and sending requests for information and complaints from residents, employees, subcontractors, etc. in person or by telephone, answering and transferring calls on the intercom and radio.
- Verifying that the salt quantity declared by employees is accurate, ensuring that the inventory is always at the compliant level, and informing their supervisor once restocking is required.
- Accounting for the outgoing fuel using the computer system, balancing the inventory with the data declared, and informing their supervisor once restocking is required.
- Receiving, unpacking, and verifying goods, if necessary or directed to do so, requesting assistance from a municipal equipment – distribution agent to ensure that the delivered goods match orders; accepting equivalent goods.
- Storing goods after routine checks, and ensuring that various product data matches the information in the computer management system.
