Administrative Secretary – Hydro Westmount
Purpose of position
The work consists of performing a variety of secretarial duties to provide administrative and operational support and customer service assistance.
Qualifications
- The position requires a DEP in appropriate sector and profile, or the equivalent.
Experience
- At least two (2) years of relevant experience allowing the candidate to become familiar with and apply knowledge related to the field of employment.
Main Responsibilities
- Receives mail, reads it and forwards it to the right person.
- Writes correspondence of a general nature. Checks correspondence to be sent out to ensure that there are no errors.
- Follows up on the advancement of documents and deadlines; reminds persons concerned when necessary.
- Maintains his/her superior’s agenda. Attends meetings, takes notes of the deliberations, and writes reports or drafts minutes.
- Carries out other office duties; operates the usual office equipment (folding machine, enveloping of invoices and stamps, photocopier, fax machine, calculator, etc.).
- Gathers and assembles data coming from various sources.
Essential Knowledge
- both languages (French, English) spoken and written;
- windows software (Word, Excel, etc.).

- to be tactful and courteous;
- perceive details and identify errors in texts;
- to communicate with ease;
- to write routine correspondence;
- to supervise and guide the work of employees;
- to operate standard office equipment;
- to transcribe data with accuracy.
