2019 Sports and Recreation survey results

This past June, the City of Westmount conducted a survey on residents’ use of sports and recreation facilities and participation in municipal programmes to gather insight into their level of satisfaction as well as their needs and wants.

An invitation to participate in the survey was sent to 10,418 Westmount households. Residents could choose to complete the form online using a PIN access, or pick up a paper version and submit it to City Hall, Victoria Hall or the Sports and Recreation office.

The survey was available for four weeks – June 3rd to June 28th – 265 responses were received (93% online, 7% hardcopy).

Overall, residents are quite satisfied with the programmes and facilities offered by the City’s Sports and Recreation Department, with a 77% satisfaction rate. There was no indication of glaring course corrections but there is always room for improvement in certain areas.

The Sports and Recreation Department continuously strives to improve its programming and facilities by adding new activities, modifying existing ones to better suit participants’ needs, and making programmes and facilities more accessible.

Residents can always contact the Sports and Recreation Department by phone or by email (recreation@westmount.org) with comments or suggestions on programming and facilities.
