Urban Planning Department

The Urban Planning Department is responsible for managing the planning and regulation of urban planning tools. These tools allow us to plan land development policy and set the rules governing the construction and use of buildings and lands.

Regionally, Westmount is part of the Montreal Urban Agglomeration that was adopted on January 29th, 2015. Its Land Use Planning and Development Plan, which must comply with the guidelines of the Montreal Metropolitan Community (MMC), is required by Metropolitan Land use and Development Plan (MLDP).

Locally, the City manages several regulations including Zoning, Subdivision, Construction, as well as Site Planning and Architectural Integration Programmes.
